HPC & AI MeetUp (Manchester)

On the eve of STFC's 2019 Computing Insight UK conference (CIUK) we'll be running a HPC & AI meetup between 6-8pm in the Derby Suite at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.

As with our London meetups, the format will be three invited guest speakers from industry/academia who will deliver short (approx 20 min) presentations on topics from the applied and theoretical sides of HPC and AI. Delighted to say our speakers in Manchester include:

1. Stig Telfer, CTO, StackHPC (www.stackhpc.com)

• Topic: The Tangled Landscape of AI, HPC and Cloud

2. Darren Harkins, Staff Systems Engineer, Mellanox (www.mellanox.com)

• Topic: Using the Network to accelerate Machine Learning – Collectives and their role in AI

Following the presentations there will be plenty of drinks, snacks and time to network with the rest of the meetup group as we all look forward to CIUK starting the following day.
