What we’re about
We are a diverse group of people brought together by our love for the Harry Potter book series and what it teaches us about friendship, kindness, and coexistence.
Together we are the Northern Virginia Harry Potter Defense Against the Dark Arts (DADA) Meetup group - whether you're a brave Gryffindor, a cunning Slytherin, an intelligent Ravenclaw, a loyal Hufflepuff, or Hat Stall.
We generally host at least one meetup per month - a book discussion or an activity. We discuss the HP books and themes as well as other related novels. We host several annual activities such a themed Tea, Harry Potter's Birthday celebration, crafting and game Days, and Halloween and Yule parties as well as a few unique events.
Our discussions are currently online via Zoom to accommodate as many people as we can as we do them on weekday evenings.

Walter E. Washington Convention Center, 801 Allen Y. Lew Place, Washington DC, DC, USAwesome Con is Washington DC’s Comic Con! A 3-Day celebration of geek culture, bringing over 60,000 fans together with their favorite stars from across comics, movies, tv, toys, games, and more!
DADA will have a table in the exhibit hall along with other local fannish organizations. If you're attending Awesome Con, stop by to see us! (Table # TBA)
