Blitzing Tomoka Basin - Bulow Creek B12 Gate
Details
Gate B12 is on the south side of Walter Boardman Road just west of Bulow Creek. It is one of the entrances to the Bulow Creek Trail. The habitat includes pine flat woods, open marsh and creek views. Parking is off the road by the trail gate. Please do not block the gate.
Be prepared to work hard counting birds and identifying species. This is one leg of a Bird Blitz that will be conducted that day at 3 different sites. The event is open to beginners and experts alike. Sometimes the best birds are found by the "rookies".
More information on this event will be available soon.
Prepare for a trail walk - sturdy shoes, sun screen, bug spray, hat, optics, camera, snacks if needed. Monitor conditions. There may be some wet and muddy spots after rains.
