HopeCycle New Volunteer Orientation and Open House

Since 2010, HopeCycle, formerly Project ReCycle, has been on a mission to inspire hope for those in need, through the gift of a bicycle. Over this past decade, this nonprofit organization has empowered thousands of youth and adults in underserved communities through the transformation of bicycles into VEHICLES OF HOPE.

One of our members made me aware of this event. And I thought since Mike's Bikes (formerly Elevation Bicycle) was a big supporter of Project Recycle this would be a great opportunity for our membership.

What will volunteers do?
Interested in volunteering with HopeCycle? Join us for an interactive evening to learn more about our mission, meet current volunteers, tour the shop, and explore the many ways you can get involved.
HopeCycle inspires hope through the gift of a bicycle by providing refurbished bikes to children, veterans, and individuals facing transportation barriers throughout our community. None of this would be possible without volunteers.
This event is designed to give prospective volunteers a firsthand look at how HopeCycle operates. You'll rotate through different volunteer stations, learn about our programs and community impact, and discover opportunities that match your interests, skills, and availability.

Volunteer opportunities include:
- Bike refurbishment and repair
- Front desk and retail support
- Community programs and bike giveaways
- Logistics and transportation
- Administrative, fundraising, and marketing support

No bike mechanic experience is required. Training is available, and there are opportunities for volunteers of all backgrounds and skill levels.
By the end of the evening, you'll have the opportunity to sign up for your first volunteer shift and become part of a community that is helping to change lives, one bike at a time.

What will volunteers need to bring or wear?
Feel free to invite a friend, family member, coworker, or neighbor who may be interested in volunteering. Refreshments will be provided.
