What we’re about
This is a group for longtime and rookie landlords who own and rent properties in Hampton Roads, VA. Join us to share ideas, stories, tool and strategies with other landlords. If you already own properties or want to learn how you can become a landlord and let tenants fund your retirement, this group is for you.
If you are a professional property manager or licensed agent, this is NOT the group for you. Instead, checkout http://sevirginia.narpm.org - The South East. Chapter of the National Assoc of Residential Property Managers. <br>
If you are a vendor - (contractor, licensed agent, wholesaler), this is NOT the group for you because our group’s purpose is education, not networking. Instead, consider joining the Tidewater Real Estate Investor’s Group and the Peninsula Real Estate Investor’s Groups. Both groups include networking as a component of their purpose. If you have an expertise for landlords and would like to be considered as a speaker or panelist, please send a message to our organizer and we would be happy to consider your topic!

The difference between success and failure isn't about getting it right every time. It's about successful problem solving when things go wrong. Join us to hear our panel of experienced real estate entrepreneurs describe rentals, renos, purchases, and sales on brink of going bad and how they maneuvered their way into a profit. What to do when a brand new mega apartment complex goes up across from your small older complex? How do you save a "buy, reno, rent" deal that goes south mid-project due to unanticipated costs? Creative solutions for daunting problems. And bring your problems to share and benefit from brainstorming with our panel and our fabulous HRLA group!
Our panel will include our founder Patti Robertson who has decades of experience with her own properties and the properties of her landlord clients. Dena McKee will bring her wealth of experience owning and managing small apartment complexes, quads, and duplexes. And Ryan Mellon of www.thedigitalnomadcoach.com will share his diverse "buy, reno, and rent" challenges and how he found clever ways to pull success out of the jaws of defeat. As always, we will enjoy engaged conversation sharing our own experiences with the panel and getting their insights.
If you have not yet joined the Virginia Real Estate Investors Alliance, please do so. Their purpose is to connect REIs throughout the state of Virginia so we can take action when needed to protect our mutual interests with legislatures. You can find them here:
