We want to celebrate our accomplishments for the pandemic year and plan for the year ahead. In 2020, our monthly programs went online allowing us to reach a larger audience, our plant sale adjusted to contact-free pick-up when other sales were cancelled, our annual native garden tour turned into a virtual garden walk and our membership grew to over 150 strong!

None of this would have been possible without you! We want to thank our members for your support by offering a celebration featuring a winter seed-sowing demonstration and by offering all of us an opportunity to get better acquainted and to hear your ideas for our Wild Ones Chapter!

We will conduct a brief business meeting:

Introduce new board members, Cynthia Colvin and Doug Chien
Announce newly elected board officers
Highlight our accomplishments for 2020
Give a sneak peek our plans for 2021
We will conduct a Winter-Sowing Demo

Get a headstart on your garden! Janice Gricus, Master Gardener and expert seed-sower, will lead a demonstration of seed starting that follows nature's methods.
We will socialize in small Zoom breakout rooms (aka-Speed dating for native plant nerds!)

Meet other members in a fun and informal setting
Tell us about your favorite native plant or why you choose natives
Did anything unexpected grow or happen in your garden?
Sound like fun but you're not a member? Join us here: https://westcook.wildones.org/join/

West Cook Wild Ones shares information with landowners about how important their landscaping choices are. We share our ideas, skills, and knowledge with others so that their yards can be hospitable to other animals. Working together, we all can ensure the continuation of ecosystem benefits we receive from healthy, beneficial animal and plant populations. Wild Ones: Native Plants, Natural Landscapes promotes environmentally sound landscaping practices to preserve biodiversity through the preservation, restoration and establishment of native plant communities. Wild Ones is a not-for-profit environmental education and advocacy organization.
