The World as We Perceive It: A Phenomenology Meetup
Phenomenology is the study of lived experience — how the world appears to us before theories, labels, or judgments. This meetup invites you to slow down, notice, and share insights into the nature of perception and consciousness.
What we’ll do together:
• Warm Welcome & Icebreaker – Meet fellow participants and share a personal moment of perception or awareness.
• Intro to Phenomenology – A short talk on the basics: from Husserl’s call to go “back to the things themselves” to how phenomenology influences psychology, art, and everyday life.
• Guided Reflection Exercise – Practice observing an ordinary object, sound, or memory through a phenomenological lens.
• Group Discussion – Exchange perspectives on questions like: What makes an experience “real”? How does perception shape meaning?
• Closing Circle – Share takeaways and consider how phenomenological thinking can enrich daily life.
You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for the richness of experience, new insights into perception, and meaningful connections with others curious about the human mind.
