What we’re about
My name is Jennie, and I'm helping run the LGBTQ+ group at Walnut Creek United Methodist Church. We are reaching out because we think we have a cute event that we're struggling to get the word out about, and we think it aligns perfectly with the current need for community.
Honestly, for years, we were completely dense about it. At Pride, people kept asking what the church offered specifically for the queer community. Our initial response was, "The whole church is inclusive!" Then it hit us: Duh. That's because we already have our tribe, our established community. Mind blown, finally.
So, we started a social event just for laughs and friendship—our GAYme Night.
Here are the need-to-knows:
It's held on the second Saturday of every month, 7–9 PM.
The Vibe: Absolutely no churchy stuff. This is a casual, social mixer.
The Demographic: We're specifically focusing on the 40 to 60+ crowd looking to widen their circles. Especially in this political climate, we all need more safe spaces and faces.
