The mountains close to Ulysses Peak have been identified as the source of the mayday message the Lucky 13 and other survivors have been hearing ever since the ochre rain began to fall. There waits Mariner 51, a lifeline to the federal government of the world that was, promising information and slender hope.

But what would be a difficult expedition in normal conditions is made horrifying in a world collapsing into ruin, amidst climate transformation, invasive extra-terrestrial flora, and the presence of the corrupted organisms known as the Drowned.

And yet, into the wilds of northern Idaho, amidst this climate collapse, nuclear fallout, and the predations of the notorious biker gang “The Children of the Yellow King,” the Lucky 13 head out once more.
