Hybrid Sensation - Tour Edition is a semi-automated, tour-ready edition of Jakob la Cour's acclaimed mixed reality performance, which premiered at The Royal Danish Theatre in 2023.

Hybrid Sensation is an immersive mixed reality performance that opens new modes of sensing. It challenges and transforms the audience's sense of reality, body and identity through a participatory sensory process.

The work signals a shift where digital and physical hybridity becomes a basic condition - with its mystique, quirks and glitches. Wearing VR headsets, audiences enter a shared sensory environment - a mini cosmos with a responsive interaction system. Here, the physical meets the meta-real in an atmospheric bath of light and spatial sound, a contemporary initiation into the hybrid body.
