Exciting News: Transition of Walk Wild to AAA Hiking
For more details on AAA Hiking Events, click this link
Hi Wild Hikers,
We hope this message finds you well and that you’re enjoying the great outdoors as much as we are!
We’re writing to share some news: As part of some recent changes, AAA Hiking has taken over coordinating and hosting the old Walk Wild group meetup page. This has no impact on AAA events and Walk Wild events are no longer listed on Meetup. AAA Hiking will also not trade or host Walk Wild’s previous events once listed on this page. What this simply means, is the combining of two thriving outdoor communities, new and old, into one.
This page will now solely deliver AAA Hiking events.
We aim to ensure a seamless transition so you can continue enjoying the adventures, camaraderie and love for the outdoors under our new stewardship.
What this means for you:
- All upcoming and future events will continue to be hosted on the Walk Wilds Meetup Page.
- There will be a considerable increase in the number of events available to you with a broader array of destinations.
- There will be many more experienced and trained event hosts and mountain leaders. All offer different levels of hike pace and interests.
What Type of Events will be available
Here are just some of the events that are now available to you.
- Day Hikes from London
- Weekend Hiking Events with a choice of hikes and excellent home-cooked food.
- Short overseas breaks to thermal spas with relaxed activities & sightseeing.
- Canoe and Camping trips
- Multiday hiking trips to Scotland
- European Hiking Holidays to Slovenia, Italy, Spain, Slovakia
We deeply respect the community you’ve built and are committed to honouring its spirit. If there are specific traditions, preferences, or details you’d like us to prioritise, please let us know—we’re all ears!
Feel free to reply here or contact info@aaalondongroup.com
Thank you for trusting us with this transition. We’ll keep fostering a love for the outdoors and creating unforgettable hiking experiences! After all, AAA Hiking has been hosting events on Meetup since 2008, and we have hosted well over a thousand events in the UK and Europe in that time.
Initially, we will post the headline details for each event within the Wild Walks Meetup Group, with the full event details available on the AAA Hiking.
Why? The management of multiple groups across the Meetup platform is complex, especially in terms of event limits. So, we will always ask you to RSVP in the primary group, AAA Hiking.
You can also subscribe to our mailing list for early notification of new events and offers. We promise never to email you more than once a week, if that.
Happy trails,
AAA Hiking Team
P.S. Stay tuned for a memorable "welcome" hike we’ll host soon to unite our communities!

Situated in the southwest of England, right in the very heart of Devon, Dartmoor is a landscape of stunning views, awe-inspiring granite tors, deep wooded valleys with fast-flowing rivers, and rugged, wide-open spaces. Dartmoor is a gift for lovers of ancient history. There’s plenty of evidence of prehistoric settlement around Dartmoor, with the Bronze Age period seeing a larger population moving into the area. Challenging treks across windswept moors or relaxing strolls through secluded woods, you’ve come to the right place... Dartmoor has it all!
Ancient clapper bridges - crossing streams and rivers, stone crosses; barrows, standing stones, circles, tumulus & cairns all contribute to the wealth of features to enjoy on Dartmoor.
