Solo Sunday Salon at Berkeley Rep’s School of Theatre
Details
### ⚖️ Please Read Before Signing Up
This Solo Sunday Salon is different from a typical evening at Berkeley Rep. It features stories from people who have experienced incarceration — sharing their journeys of survival, transformation, and reentry. These performances are powerful, authentic, and deeply human, offering insight into both personal growth and the broader criminal justice system.
If you’re drawn to theatre that opens hearts, inspires reflection, and celebrates resilience, this event will stay with you. If you’re looking for something purely light-hearted, this may not be the right fit.

From Shawn:
I’m passionate about criminal justice reform and believe that stories from those with lived experience are some of the most powerful tools for social change. I’ve attended several of these salons and am always moved by the performers’ honesty, creativity, and hope. The setting is intimate, the stories are heartfelt, and the experience leaves you feeling more connected and inspired.
