We are the Sloth Hike Team of WNC: “We will get there when we get there.” We dare to go where the ‘real’ hike groups don’t !!

I am going to Saunter along a portion of the Buck Spring Tr along the Pisgah Ridge near the BRPkwy. We will be CATCHING high elevation first Spring green and wildflowers. Up to 12 of you are welcome to join me.
Not to be confused with the HFF Walking group event of the same name, time and place.. 😉Note: I’m organizing 2 different events at the same time and the same place – but with different hike lengths.
Length: 4 mi (in & out) to Picnic Rock from Hwy 276 and back
Accum ascent: 500 ft total gradual.
Pace: 1.5mph – because I’m an ol’ Codger.
DIFFICULTY: Moderate: rocky & dirt narrow trail. There may be unexpected challenges and obstacles. See description below.
Drive time: 20 min/ 11 miles 1-way
Return Not earlier than: 1:30 pm (=4hrs)
Carpool contributions appreciated. $2.00 suggested
Weather Check: Brevard
Weather cancellations will be posted at 6:30am.
WAITLISTED PEOPLE WILL BE ADDED AS DRIVERS SIGN ON.
I currently have 3 driver(s) (=10ppl)
Please bring an extra pair of shoes to avoid bringing your muddy shoes into the driver's car at the end of the hike.
This event is NOT for beginners or those with health or balance issues.
This is a dog-participant hike. This event is NOT for those who are uncomfortable with the antics of fun-loving dogs. Dogs are welcome (IF their masters are well trained). Well trained dogs can be 'off-leash'. 'On leash' when meeting others..
Incessant prattlers will be assumed to be having an affair. Obstreperous raucous yawping is discouraged. My attempts to quiet the prattlers has failed. This has become a ‘social networking’ event.
DESCRIPTION;
Remember - hikes led by ‘the Curmudgeon’ tend to have challenging surprises.
Due to recent events, Bigfoot discussions are no longer permitted.
A seasonal favorite; this is a very pleasant hike that weaves in and out of the various coves that lie along the southeast face of the mountain ridge that rises up above Pink Beds. 6 moderate rock-hop creek Xings; rocky trail. I suggest extra socks & towels for any surprises on the creek Xings.
All hikes are at your own risk. You are responsible for your OWN safety and adequate equipment.
