Details
We are the Sloth Hike Team of WNC: “We will get there when we get there.” We dare to go where the ‘real’ hike groups don’t !!

I am going to ‘hunt’ wildflowers on the Reasonover/Turkey Knob/Poplar Hill trails in DuPont; Up to 12 ppl are welcome to join me.
Distance: 5.0 mi total;
Total ascent: 400 ft / accum descent: 750 ft- (east to west)
Pace: 1.5mph – because I’m an ol’ Codger.
Difficulty: Well defined trail; mostly earthen. Moderate slopes w/ occasional short steep slopes. One (1) CHALLENGING boulder-hop stream Xing. (watershoes, extra socks, towels suggested)
Drive time: 25mi/45 min 1-way; CAR SHUTTLE REQUIRED.(2.5mi)
Initial Trlhd: Google map = ”Fawn Lake Access Area”
Return time Not earlier than: 3:30 pm (=6hrs)
Carpool contributions appreciated. $4.00 suggested
Weather Check: Cedar mountain, NC.
WAITLISTED PEOPLE WILL BE ADDED AS DRIVERS SIGN ON.
I currently have 4 drivers. (=14ppl)
We suggest open windows while carpooling. Only you know your own health status so judge accordingly if an event may endanger your health or the health of others.
Please bring an extra pair of shoes to avoid bringing your muddy shoes into the driver's car at the end of the hike.
Incessant prattlers will be assumed to be having an affair. Obstreperous raucous yawping is discouraged. My attempts to quiet the prattlers has failed. This has become a ‘social networking’ event.
THIS IS A DOG-PARTICIPANT HIKE. This event is NOT for those who are uncomfortable with the antics of fun-loving dogs. Dogs (and Masters) required to be ‘on-leash' in DuPont. Small (lap)dogs may carpool. Large dogs will drive themselves.
DESCRIPTION;
Remember - hikes led by ‘the Curmudgeon’ tend to have challenging surprises.
Wood elves are mischievous in the Spring; Zip your backpacks tight.
This is a pleasant tall tree forest walk. This is a wildflower hike.
One (1) challenging rock-hop stream Xing stepping from boulder to boulder as you make your way across a fairly wide section of water. Watershoes would be prudent. Trekking poles necessary. Wading the stream is optional.
Car shuttle required from: Fawn Lake Access to 35.17564, -82.57618: 2.5 mi.
