Avery Creek Tr; a Saunter

We are the Sloth Hike Group: “We will get there when we get there.” We dare to go where the ‘real’ hike groups don’t !!
I am going to do light trail maintenance the Avery Crk Tr in Pisgah Forest;
Social ‘hour’ at 9:20a. Cattle call at 9:30a.

Description: Forest walk with Earthen w/ roots & rocks. 1 wet creek Xing; Trail treats the visitor to pretty cascades and pools along Avery Creek.
Length: : 2.25mi/ 250 ft ascent & descent
Pace: 1.5mph – because I’m an ol’ Codger.
Bring gloves, limb saw, branch clippers. Bring 1 small grocery bag for litter pick-up.
Due to recent events, Ouija boards are no longer permitted.
Drive time: ½ hr; high clearance vehicle required.
Apprx return time: 1 pm (=3.0hrs)
Carpool contributions appreciated. $2.00 suggested

THIS IS A DOG-PARTICIPANT HIKE. Dogs MUST like (calf-deep) water xings!!!
This event is NOT for those who are uncomfortable with the antics of fun-loving dogs. Well trained dogs (you don’t have to yell) can be 'off-leash'. Small (lap)dogs may carpool. Large dogs will drive themselves.
We suggest open windows while carpooling. Only you know your own health status so judge accordingly if an event may endanger your health or the health of others.
Please bring an extra pair of shoes to avoid bringing your muddy shoes into the driver's car at the end of the hike.
All hikes are at your own risk. You are responsible for your OWN safety and adequate equipment.
