Library After Hours

The Library if officially hosting its first ever Library After Hours event!
Join for an evening of crafts, library behind the scenes tour, and a personalized book recommendations panel in an evening tailored for adults in the community! Ask the experts exactly what you should read next based on your personal preferences and discover new titles you may not have heard of before! Even more fun to come.
*Please note this is an 18+ only event as this is intended to be an evening focused for adults. Please enjoy a few kid-free hours at the library!

This venue is temperature regulated and features gorgeous wooden floors. We play a combination of pop and oldies, and dance primarily east coast swing. Cost: 10 per person and includes the lesson.

Outsider Art of Mary Heald – Reception
September 11 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm; Free
Studio 116 is proud to present a show of artwork from Sept. 11 – 26 by Henderson County artist Mary Heald. Found Folk: Outsider Art of Mary Heald will feature paintings and hanging assemblages as well as the artist’s free-standing doll-like multimedia sculptures. Mary is a self-taught artist who works from her home studio in Horse Shoe. Found Folk will open with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11; the event will feature an artist talk at 7 p.m.

2nd Annual Renaissance Festival
September 12 @ 11:30 am @ Mills River Brewing
Hear Ye, Hear Ye! Join the King & Queen for the 2nd Annual Renaissance Festival, a free family-friendly celebration filled with medieval entertainment and adventure.
Enjoy full-contact combat with Warriors of Ash, live music, 40+ vendors, fire spinning by Unifire Theater, belly dancing by Mystic Mountain Tribe, Tomato Torment with Jester Adam, giant turkey legs, pretzels, and other fair favorites. Guests can also meet the King & Queen throughout the day.
The festivities begin with the Royal Moonlit Masquerade Ball on September 11

Rockin’ on the Rock with Showboat Band

Enjoy live music with musical offerings ranging from jazz to country, rockabilly, pop, rock and blues. Organized by the Friends of Laurel Park.

6:15-7pm - Cy Miller and Joyce Anderson will teach a shag step. 7-10pm - Shag Dance.
The dance entry door is upstairs off of the upper parking lot. Dave plays a great variety of music that
includes swing, shag, some cha-chas, rhumbas and a line dance or two. Bring a partner or come solo.
Full Bar and kitchen available with Free Parking in the upper lot. Cost: 7 per person (Cash only).

Hendersonville Ballroom Dance Club Tea Dance - Dress: Hawaiian Attire

Doors open at 2:30pm and at 3pm Open Ballroom Dancing to the music of DJ Gary Bills. Ample parking at
the front entry of the building, take the elevator or stairs to the upper level. Parking is limited at the rear
entrance, both front and back doors will be unlocked. Our dances are open to the public and everyone is
invited. Enjoy Ballroom Dancing to dance tunes including Swing (East & West Coast), Waltz, Tango, Rumba,
Cha-Cha and Foxtrot. There is also a dance mixer. Cost: $5 per person at the door.

Bring the whole family out and enjoy an afternoon and evening filled with local vendors, food trucks, live music, kids’ activities, and a spectacular fireworks finale! Band Schedule: Tracy Davis 2:30-4:30pm and The Showboat Band 5:30-7:30pm.
