Buck Spring Trail; a Saunter
Details
A seasonal favorite; this is a very pleasant hike that weaves in and out of the various coves that lie along the southeast face of the mountain ridge that rises up above Pink Beds. I suggest extra socks & towels for any surprises on the creek Xings.
We will be CATCHING Fall color.
I will be carrying the ‘Ent-Ward’ that gives us permission to pass thru the forest.
DIFFICULTY: rocky & dirt narrow trail. 6 moderately challenging rock-hop creek Xings. There may be unexpected challenges and obstacles.
We are the Sloth Hike Team of WNC: “We will get there when we get there.” We dare to go where the ‘real’ hike groups don’t !!
John Muir didn’t like the word ‘hike’. “We ought to saunter through them reverently, not 'hike' through them.”

THIS IS A DOG-PARTICIPANT HIKE. This event is NOT for those who are uncomfortable with the antics of fun-loving dogs. Well trained dogs (you don’t have to yell) can be 'off-leash'. 'On leash' when meeting other hikers. Small (lap)dogs may carpool. Large dogs will drive themselves.
Incessant prattlers will be assumed to be having an affair.
Weather Check: Brevard, NC
WAITLISTED PEOPLE WILL BE ADDED AS DRIVERS SIGN ON.
I currently have 2.5 driver(s) (=10ppl)
We suggest open windows while carpooling. Only you know your own health status so judge accordingly if an event may endanger your health or the health of others. Please bring an extra pair of shoes to avoid bringing your muddy shoes into the driver's car at the end of the hike.
