I am going to Cedar Rock Mtn in DuPont Forest; Up to 12 ppl are welcome to join.
Cedar Rock Mountain in DuPont State Forest provides wonderful views and dramatic scenery - Cedar Rock Mountain contains some of the most exposed granite anywhere in the region. Hundreds of acres alternate between bare and moss/lichen covered rock. The area has become quite popular with mountain bikers and hikers.
We will walk the Big Rock/ Cedar Rock/Little River/Corn Mill Shoals Tr(s).
Remember - hikes led by ‘the Curmudgeon’ tend to have pleasant surprises.
I will be carrying the ‘Ent-Ward’ that gives us permission to pass thru the forest.
Difficulty: eroded water outwash on uphill trail. Some rocks & roots.
We are the Sloth Hike Team of WNC: “We will get there when we get there.” We dare to go where the ‘real’ hike groups don’t !!
