Despite a search that began quite early and involved explorations into religion, movement and meditation, recovery, psychedelics and the red road of native Amrican ceremony, Fred feels his path did not become fully established until he met his teacher Shinzen Young in 1990. In 1997 Fred began a study and practice of Buddhism that has continued to this day. In addition to his relationship with Shinzen, Fred has also studied with many of the prominent Dharma teachers in the U.S as well as in South East Asia even ordaining as a monastic for a short time in the lineage of the Burmese master Mahasi Sayadaw. More recently, Fred has become immersed in the Tibetan practice of Mahamudra/Dzogchen with Dan Brown. Fred is mere months away from completing his Masters’ degree in clinical psychology with a specialization in somatic psychotherapy. Fred finds fulfillment in helping people whether it is helping elders cross the street, his work in recovery, or pointing people
