Join us on Thursday, March 12 for the next installment of Mixing Innovative Arts (MIA)!
A collaboration among MIA, Kundiman, and the Hub Coworking Space, we are proud to present Build Me a Bangka: Departures from the Philippines - New Diasporic Writing.

Hosted by Kristiana Kahakauwila and Sujatha Raman, and co-sponsored by Kundiman Hawaii Regional Group, and Hub Coworking this reading will feature Michelle Peñaloza, Lawence Ypil, Angela Peñaredondo, Joseph Manuel, and Almendro L. Fernandez. Sharing in the work of writing and living as part of the diaspora from the Philippines, these five extraordinary writers have found homes in Hawaiʻi, California, and beyond, while they collectively nourish the ancestral inheritance of their homeland. We are honored to bear witness to their stories.

This free community event (donations to Support the Space are welcome but not required) will take place on Thursday, March 12th from 6 to 8 p.m. HST at the Hub Coworking Space, 1050 Queen Street, Honolulu, HI 96822. Please RSVP here.

Light pupus will be served, Stay and mingle with the readers, fellow book lovers, and other writers. Copies of authors' books will be available for purchase.
