Hudson Valley Fantasy Writers (First Meetup!)

Join the first Hudson Valley Fantasy Writers' Meetup at Panera Bread in Poughkeepsie!

We kick off each meetup with a 15 minute writing exercise to get the creative juices flowing before launching into 40 minutes of uninterrupted writing. This is not a critique circle, so no reading or writing homework is ever required; you simply get to show up and write!

Attendees are never asked to share what they have written or provide feedback on a fellow writer's work. The focus of these workshops are to give attendees space to write and connect with likeminded fantasy readers and writers.

While we are primarily a fantasy writers club, other genre fiction (sci-fi, romance, horror, mystery, etc) writers are also welcome!

We are a 21+, LGBT+ friendly group that sometimes meets in bars or establishments where alcohol is served. This is also a fandom friendly space, so feel free to come and work on your Witcher, Harry Potter, Baldur's Gate, etc fanfiction as well!

When joining, we do ask that everyone please make a purchase at the venue, so we can support our local businesses and have them happy for us to return. :-)
