History Hikers 10yr Anniversary Celebration Hike n Picnic.

As of 11-14 I’ve changed the meetup location to the upper picnic area, pavilion 2. Make an immediate right after passing by the closed admission both booth and follow to the top. I’ll be by the only pavilion. Please park tightly as we obviously will have many cars. Thanks. My huge thanks to you all for 10 years, 240 History Hikes and counting!! None of this happens without you. Therefore, this casual event celebrates our time together whether you’ve been here from the beginning or are a newbie.

IMPORTANT things you need to know: Please, only sign if you’re committed to attend. I’ve paid for and reserved a pavilion/picnic area at Croton Point Park. Therefore, I’m accepting modest donations to offset that cost and what Meetup charges me. Thanks. Attending both the hike and picnic is optional. If you don’t have a recognizable profile, you can’t be considered. (Think face etc. This has been our policy for years).

The hike: Beautiful and historic Croton Pt. Easy. Around 4-5 miles, depending on the route. I’ll bring some pics. *THE HIKE WILL BE VERY CASUAL, meaning, wt an expected large group it will be hard for us all to stay together as we normally do. So running ahead, lagging behind, early outs, skipping the nooks n crannies, are all okay on this one. There are several port-o-johns along the way.

The optional picnic: Pavilion wt picnic tables. At the meetup lot. Three port-o-john’s. Two grills if inclined. Beer and wine permitted. Bringing something to share is optional but hopefully most of you will. I suggest bring a fold up chair.

No pets, children please. Finish time is really whenever we are done wt the picnic. You acknowledge that hiking is a risk of injury or other and take sole responsibility for yourself.
