There is an optional picnic after in the grove at Playland where we meet. Hopefully you’ll be able to stay and bring something casual to share. Why leave such a beautiful place early?

This 3-part event includes the wonderfully connected Rye Town Beach, Playland Park and the Edith Read Preserve. It is offered identically on Wednesday 3-25 and again on Sunday 4-12. We’ve been to Playland before as a bonus round from another nearby event. This time we’ll explore these three gorgeous places comprehensively.

Suggested donation $5.00.

All start waitlisted wt preference to regulars while endeavoring to add a few new people. This will be a somewhat slower paced event. Everyone is expected to stay wt the group.

The hike: Around 5? miles. Just a guess. Flat. Easy. Sand, pavement, dirt paths, rocky shoreline etc. Several brief stops for history and scenery. There’s the remains of a shipwreck? What’s that chimney about? The bathhouse once held a jail for rowdy beach goers? Got bamboo? We will also have a lunch break.

Bathrooms: Not at the meetup lot, but soon after at Rye Town Park there are 3 port-o-John’s. Also at Edith Read the Nature Center has one, and also a port-o-john.

Meetup: Huge lot. Obvious. First entrance at the admission booth, free this time of year.

Liability waiver signature required. No guests, runners, early outs, pets. Distance and finish times are approximations. Never quote me. If you’re on the waitlist you can’t just show up. You must have a representative profile. Questions, please send me a private note.

Let’s explore these three unique places and picnic after!
