Harriman Mine, Lake and Ruin History Hike.
Details
Let’s do a brand new History Hike on a Friday in one of the most historic and beautiful places in the Hudson Valley.
Suggested donation $5.00.
Limited parking. Smaller group. Carpooling encouraged. Slightly slower paced. Everyone is expected to stay wt the group. Optional after hike picnic at nearby Kanawauke Rec Area. Optional bring a snack for the picnic. I’ve scanned a few pics below. All start waitlisted wt preference to regulars.
The hike: Around 5.5 miles? Some moderate parts: On trail brief easyish rock scrambles and crossing streams. Ups n downs. The rest easy. Lunch at the lake/ruin. Gorgeous!!
Bathrooms: None so plan accordingly.
Meetup: Please make sure you understand where this is before you leave. Kanawauke Rd is also Rt 106. From Seven Lakes Drive and the Rt 106, Kanawauke Traffic Circle: Travel on Rt 106 West for about 3.5 miles past a few other small hiker lots. You’ll then see ours. I’ll be there early. You could carpool the 3.5 miles from the Kanawauke Rec Area lot if you can connect wt a going member.
Liability waiver signature required. No guests, pets, early outs, runners or slow pokes. If you’re on the waitlist you can’t just show up.
A wonderful day in Harriman!
