This is a short but very sweet History Hike in an area that we haven’t been to in a few years. There’s an optional picnic after. Please read all the info as this isn’t for everyone.

Suggested donation $5.00.

All start waitlisted wt preference to regulars. Everyone is expected to stay wt the group. Hiking pole(s) strongly recommended. Finish time doesn’t include the picnic.

In the 1930’s Bear Mt bottled their own spring water. A large bottle dump exists along our route. Each time we’ve visited we’ve found intact bottles. Can we again? A short distance away is an exceptionally cool iron ore Mine that we’ll visit.

The hike: Short. 4? miles. BUT, there are several up’s n down’s over rocky terrain that may be covered wt slippery leaves. Some off trail wt some rock scrambling. We will go inside a Mine that has partial light so bring a flashlight. Brief hiking on a paved surface. Parts moderate, others easy.

Meetup: Park all the way at the end of the lot after entering.

Bathrooms: The Tiorati bathroom is closed. There is a formal bathroom just a few miles away at the Silvermine Rec Area on 7 Lakes Dr. Plan accordingly.

Picnic: Optional. Hopefully you’ll stay and bring something casual to share. It will not be at the meetup, rather, just a few miles away at the Silver Mine Rec Area where there’s a pavilion and formal bathroom.

Liability signature required. No guests, pets, early out, runners or slow pokes. Finish time and distance are approximations only. If you are on the waitlist you can’t just show up.

Let’s explore an area short on distance but long on beauty on history!
