Mountain Laurel Minnewaska Hike!!!! Date 2.

This is one of my favorite hikes if we get the mountain laurel timing right!!!! I am posting it for the week before also just in case!!!! This is Date 2. A few years ago even though it was raining it was beyond spectacular. Check back at the pix on the OCOF site. Come join us for it!!!

Here is a wonderful moderate Minnewaska hike. It will be a 5ish mile hike. Jenny Lane, Mossy Glen, our usual wonderful hike along the creek. Meet in the AWOSTING LOT. Go straight after the toll booth.

The park opens at 9. Get on line at 8:45 or before. If you miss the parking lot you will miss our hike. They fill up fast on beautiful days. Cell service is very tricky up there so you won't be able to get me if you are not there early. We will leave the parking lot by 9:15.

Fit, properly equipped beginners welcome but please have some hiking experience. This is not an easy hike. Dogs welcome!!! We will likely dine afterwards in New Paltz.

Bring: Snacks, water, first aid kit, camera. Hiking shoes/boots mandatory.
Meet at the Awosting lot. Go straight after the toll booth. $10 per car fee. If you have an Empire Pass or are in an Empire Pass car you are free.
Liability waiver signing necessary to attend.

$2 Meetup fee. Check back for changes especially the morning of the event. If you don't get the notifications I send out you should check your settings. If weather is iffy I will post updates usually by 7am. Please send me your cell if I don't have it, I will return with mine. Happy trails!!!
