Wahoo!!! Happy Fall - Gertrude's Nose Hike!!!

I hope you can join me for my favorite hike, Gertrude's Nose in Minnewaska. It is strenuous, not for beginners.
Please read the entire event description, both now and at least the day before. You are responsible to know what is going on. Changes may be posted within the event description or posted in comments below.
This 8ish mile strenuous hike has the most excellent views of all of our hikes. The rocks are just SOOOOOOO cool, I can't get enough. It is NOT for beginners!!!!
This will be on carriage roads and nice hiking trails, TONS of views and great places. It's roughly 20% on carriage roads, 80% on hiking trails.
There are no horrible ups or downs but rock scrambling and narrow ledges/rock crevices could be an issue if you are not comfortable with these or are scared of heights. Uneven footing is a VERY real issue if you have issues with balance, depth perception, etc.
Bring water, hat, snacks, sunglasses, first aid, tissues, and don't forget your camera. Hiking boots mandatory. We will dine afterwards in New Paltz.

Dogs are welcome. They must be leashed at Minnewaska (park rules).
CARPOOL INFO: There is a $10 per car fee for parking or free if you are in an Empire Pass vehicle. We should carpool or caravan to be together, if you are not able to park up top the walk up the hill is NASTY and I will not wait, sorry.....
Meet in front of the Visitor's Center in the upper parking lot. If it's a gorgeous day parking WILL ABSOLUTELY be an issue. Cell service is tricky up at best up there. I highly recommend you have my cell.......I plan to get on line to get in around 8:45.

$2 Meetup fee. Bad weather will change things. Stay tuned and check back before the event. I will post changes by 7am if need be.
