Stewart State Forest New Year's Eve Hike!!!!

Happy New-Year-to-be to all!!! Let's visit Stewart State Forest for an easy 4 mile New Year's hike/walk. I will bring bubbles (champagne) and eggs for this hike. ;-) We will follow an odd tradition of throwing eggs against a tree to let something miserable go from this past year. I will bring eggs for all. If you have extra stuff to let go of you can always bring more eggs!!! I may need help transporting the goodies. :-)
This is good for beginners in GOOD SHAPE, you must be able to walk at a good pace for at least 2-3 hours. If you are slower you may want to skip this event. No guests. Dogs welcome. We will likely dine afterwards.
Meet at the Ridge Road parking area in Coldenham/Montgomery. Disregard the Rock Tavern part, I don't think it is Rock Tavern but it could be. The map pin is correct.
Hiking boots are MANDATORY for this hike as well as water, snacks, first aid and a pack to put them in. Wet rocks, leaves, etc., can make for slippery footing and PROPERLY FITTING hiking boots are important. We will be on old roads for part of it but woody trails for the rest.
If there is ANY CHANCE OF SNOWY/ICY terrain SPIKES ARE MANDATORY. More about that if need be. No Yaktrax or tiny nub things. If no ice and warmish temps, no worries. I am serious though if there is ice, you may want to post a picture of your spikes so we are on the same page and you don't have to sit this **fun** event out.
Also NO COTTON if the temps are cold. Hypothermia is no fun. If you are not prepared I will ask you to skip this event.
I'll update if the weather looks icky, usually by 8am. Please send me your cell, I'll return with mine. Feel free to text me a picture of your spikes.
$2 Meetup fee. We must have 4 people total to make it work. I will reschedule if not.
