Spanish Conversation Meetup (New Paltz)

¡Hola a todos!

Please join us Monday, August 11 in New Paltz!

We’ll be meeting for an evening of informal Spanish conversation. Show up whenever you like between 6 and 8 p.m. All levels are welcome, from beginner to advanced to native, Just bring whatever Spanish you have!

We plan to be outside on the patio at Sideshow, weather permitting. Hopefully this will allow people to hear each other better :)

The restaurant: Includes a range of pub food, beers, wine, and cocktails. Visit the website here for a look at the menu. Please order at least one thing (even just a soda or some fries) to help out the restaurant that’s hosting us. We’ll have separate checks to make things easier.

Note: In the event of extreme heat or rain, we'll change the meeting location to McGillicuddy's (84 Main Street), which is nearby and has better acoustics for conversation than the Sideshow interior. Make sure to check this page the day of the event to confirm the location. We've noticed *meetup.com* automatically sends out emails before events which may contain older info.

RSVP: Please RSVP if you plan to attend and update if you can’t make it. This helps us give the restaurant a heads up for how many will attend so we can set up the table as needed.

Parking: Paid parking ends at 6 p.m. There are two lots on Plattekill Ave near the restaurants; one just behind and another down a bit by village hall/department of public works. For street parking, Plattekill Ave, Main St, Route 32N (North Chestnut Street) or Church Street are good places to look.

How to find us: Ask the host/hostess or just look for the table with mini flags from Spanish-speaking countries on it!

Event cost: Free to attend, but small donations welcome to offset Meetup organizer fees and miscellaneous expenses (like mini flags, posters).

Note: There isn’t a particular theme for our meetings and it’s not a class. We just talk about whatever! Of course, many learners find it useful to practice particular topics/phases ahead of time. If you want to do that, some of the common questions at a language meetup are:

It can be useful to practice asking yourself and answering questions like this, especially if your Spanish is a bit rusty!
