4th of July Kayaking & Fireworks!!! (No Rentals)

2019 UPDATE:
** Most of you know that I got swamped this season with two other gigs, which is why HVK is on hiatus until June 2020. But I am able to get away for the 4th, woohoo!
** No onsite BBQ, so please bring your own kayaks, coolers, and camp chairs.

PARKING & KAYAKING:
** To get to the park you'll have to drive down Old Pemart Ave., which is a side street and then dirt road. Drive through the blue gates and into the parking lot.
** You can explore Annsville Creek and putter around the cove well BEFORE low tide traps you in the mud.
** What to bring: sun protection, insect repellent, snacks, water, happy beverages, beach towel, bathing suit, change of clothes, water shoes, HEAD LAMP, football to throw around.

FIREWORKS!!!:
** Launch from the park around 7pm and paddle towards Peekskill Landing Park. Listen to free live music concert from the water, which begins around 7pm.
** Fireworks begin around 9:15pm.
** Paddle back to Annsville Preserve Park after fireworks - possibly ending around, or later than, 10pm.
** What to bring: water, FUNCTIONING HEADLAMP, towel, sweater, socks, beanie.

NOTEWORTHY:
** We will be on the Hudson River at night for the fireworks portion of this event. Water will be choppy. Winds may be windy. You must be a proficient paddler, be able to swim, and be able to self rescue.

Distance: ~ 2+ miles
