Hula practitioners with a minimum of one year of experience may join this special group to learn not just the hula, but also Hawaiian history, stories and legends of old. The significance of chants and songs is prominent in the classroom, in addition to the respectful practices like kuleana (responsibility) and aloha (values, not just a greeting). Hula 'auana (more contemporary hula) are included as well as traditional hula kahiko (dances of old), many of which are accompanied by a variety of hula implements. Participants learn to make their hula attire and adornments, and learn hula suitable for performances at island themed events.

Learn the graceful movements and storytelling traditions of Hula while building strength, rhythm, and confidence.

Limited class size; contact us at (808) 753-2440 or email us at hhalohalani@gmail.com to register or for more information. Aloha!
