Hull's Creative Community

Let us drink coffee and get stuff done! Got a creative project that you want to start or work on? Why not work on it in the company of like-minded people!

We will meet in the public area of Daze, the coffee house in the Monocle building.

This is a casual gathering that combines a social and a creative coworking session. I want to keep this as informal as possible but I was thinking of the following general schedule:

13:00 - 13:30: Introduce ourselves and our projects / general socialising - feel free to start your project in this time. Grab a coffee / beverage of your choice.

13:30 - 14:30: Focused work

14:30 - 14:45: Break

14:45 - 15:45: Focused work

15:45 - 16:00: Quick chat about progress / general socialising + there's the option to continue if people want.

The idea behind this session is to break through any inertia you might be feeling through the process of body-doubling / mild social pressure / changing your environment. This hopefully will help motivation, productivity, and creativity. If this goes well, we can make it a regular thing. Who knows, you might just meet a collaborator for a future project.

Whether is writing that next book chapter, editing those photos, putting your online portfolio together, or just trying something new, this might just be the time and place to get it done.

Bring a laptop or whatever you are working on. Remember headphones if you require them. Keep in mind that this is a public area with limited space and other patrons to consider. If we have the interest, we can look into booking coworking areas in the future.

Anyone for a spot of sketching in the wild? I did an art course where we met at Trinity Market to draw and find inspiration and I thought we could make our own casual version.

Everyone is welcome - from complete beginners to established artists.

As this is just a casual meetup, please bring your own materials for sketching. Printer paper and any pencil or pen you have to hand is fine. Of course you can bring charcoal, ink, etc. but remember we need to clean up after ourselves.

There is also the option to have a coffee/lunch break and support the local businesses in the market.

We will meet in the main seating area of Trinity Market (where the entrance from Trinity Square is). The plan is to find a table, introduce ourselves, grab a coffee, and start sketching. Feel free to walk around to find stuff to sketch, or stay seated.

Let's get the festive season off to a good start with some casual after work drinks in a relaxed setting. Everyone is welcome!

No pressure, just come along and have a chat. We should have plenty of new and interesting events in 2027 too, so keep a look out for those!

We will start at 7:00pm but feel free to come along later if you can't make that. I'll post a comment on where we are located in the venue just before the event starts.
