About us
Hum & Huddle is an in-person community singing space rooted in Indian music. Each session is built around a specific musical theme, with a small set of songs chosen to explore that theme collectively.
Sessions follow a soft three-stage flow — Plant (learning together), Play (guided creative exploration within the group), and Puddle (singing through as a whole).
Hum & Huddle is part of Choreodiverse | Sprinkle of Swara, an initiative dedicated to celebrating diverse bodies, minds, and ways of learning, through music and dance, specialising in Hindustani Vocal and Kathak Dance. This particular series sits within the Academy branch, whose aim is to nurture neuroaffirming music and dance practices around the world. These sessions are intentionally designed to make community settings accessible for those who enjoy Indian singing, with an emphasis on gentleness, collective sound, and exploration guided by the facilitator rather than performance. Listening, humming, or simply being present are all equally welcome forms of participation.
We’re currently gathering interest for these sessions. Familiarity with the languages commonly used in Indian songs is helpful, though no formal singing training is required. A small fee will apply per huddle to help ensure a safe, respectful space, to support organisers, and to cover the Meetup platform fee where necessary.
Please join the group to indicate your interest (no fee will be charged for joining as we are just gathering interest first).
