About us
Human Matters has two meanings. The things we all carry - our emotions, doubts, dreams and contradictions - are human matters. And they matter.
Yet, very often these are not the things we talk about, and most conversations stay on the surface. Human Matters is a monthly gathering for people who want a little more than that. A space to slow down, show up as you are, and connect with others in a more meaningful way.
What to expect
Each session is a guided experience with a loose structure:
- A short introduction of ourselves and the month’s theme
- Facilitated conversations and interactive exercises
- A check-out moment to share reflections or takeaways
- Some informal time at the end to chat and connect
Every time we’ll explore a different theme: think identity, belonging, self-expression, authenticity or one of the many other human matters.
The vibe is warm, curious, playful and a little vulnerable - it’s not networking, a formal workshop or therapy. Think of it as a space to be genuinely human with other humans 🫶
Who is this for?
This space is for you if you're curious about yourself and others, open to a bit of depth, and perhaps new to Maastricht or simply looking for more meaningful connection in your life.
No experience needed - just a willingness to show up as you are!
A bit about me
I’m Kim - a psychologist and Gestalt therapist in training. I have an international background and have lived across Europe, so I know what it feels like to start over somewhere new and not quite have found your people yet.
That's part of why I started running groups like this one. When I lived in Amsterdam, I facilitated workshops and hosted a meetup community that grew to over 900 members. What struck me the most was what’s possible when people who'd been strangers at the start of an evening left feeling genuinely seen and heard. I've missed that - so I'm hoping to create something similar in Maastricht. Maybe you'd like to be part of it 😊
