Every one of us has a story to tell. Hudson Valley Books for Humanity is all about bringing people together and celebrating the rich diversity of our community. With that in mind, we host intentional gatherings called the “Human Story Swap.”
When you come to a Human Story Swap, you have the opportunity to meet someone you might not otherwise get to know in your typical day. Perhaps it’s someone of a different age group, or a different cultural perspective. We provide some light guidelines, give you a conversation prompt, and arrange the group in pairs. We practice active listening while we engage in a structured 20-minute conversation, after which we all come back together and share something with the group about your conversation partner.
There’s no charge to participate. Our only hope is that you come with an open mind and leave with a full heart.
