Habits of Humanism: Mindful Living and Self-awareness
Details
Join fellow humanists as we focus on the practice of becoming more self-aware. That ability to tune-in and consciously be aware of our own thoughts, emotions, and actions and understand how our behavior affects others. How can we cultivate this self-awareness? How can we make time and/or find time to build moments into our day to slow down and tune-in to our thoughts and behaviors and assess how they track with the values and attributes that we aspire to live by?
We will begin with a guided meditation, followed by a discussion of some strategies for building self-awareness in particular aspects of our lives. Attendees are invited to share their own life experiences and lessons with the group.
All are welcome in the spirit of compassion as we seek to support one another toward greater well-being.
Each month we explore a different aspect of mindfulness and its associated practice from a secular humanist and naturalist perspective -- drawing on the experience and wisdom of participants. This month’s session is facilitated by Humanist Celebrant, Audrey Kingstrom.
