MIA Art Tour and Discussion Inspired by Books: The Book Thief

Join fellow humanists for a private art tour at the Minneapolis Institute of Art relating to the novel, "The Book Thief" by award-winning author Markus Zusak. After the tour, stay for a social and informal discussion of this historical fiction set in WWII Germany.

Meet in the lobby of MIA at 12:45 p.m., Saturday, June 11. The tour runs from 1 – 2 p.m. and we’ll gather as a group afterwards to discuss “The Book Thief” at the coffee shop there.

The Book Thief is generally widely available from your library or favorite bookstore or online. If you don’t have time to read the book, it’s also a movie (starring Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson) that is available from various streaming sources.

Here are some reading group guides for your review before we get together. We’ll keep it very informal, but please do plan to share your thoughts and other questions as well.
