Habits of Humanism: Mindful Living and Abundance
Details
Are you living life with your glass half empty -- or half full? However you answer, it also begs the question -- how big is your glass? Americans, in particular, live amidst an age of increasing abundance. It's easy to get drawn into lifestyle inflation. Or, what past generations have called, "keeping up with the Jones'." In this session, we will explore how a mindful practice can help us maintain perspective in discerning our wants and needs, on improving one's standard of living, and for expanding our notions of abundance.
We will begin with a guided meditation, followed by some reflection on how we can experience abundance in an age of decadence. No matter what our personal resources are. Attendees are invited to share their own life experiences and lessons with the group.
All are welcome in the spirit of compassion as we seek to support one another toward greater well-being.
Each month we explore a different aspect of mindfulness and its associated practice from a secular humanist and naturalist perspective -- drawing on the experience and wisdom of participants. This month’s session is facilitated by Audrey Kingstrom, Humanist Celebrant and HumanistsMN Program Coordinator.
