Models for Building & Strengthening the HumanistsMN Community @ Secular Saturday

Details

Lots of people are looking and longing for meaningful community and connection. But we are going through an incredible transition in our society and traditional models for community-building may no longer serve the changing times. In this session we will discuss various models of community formation and together explore how to meet our needs and goals as a growing humanist association.

The presentation and discussion will be from 3:00 - 4:30. Afterwards, join other Secular Saturday attendees in the gallery for refreshments and socializing.

Questions to ponder: What formats, strategies, and programming will serve us best to create a stronger sense of community, connection, and belonging? What organizations can we learn from, and what new ways of connecting might we embrace? How do we break down cultural barriers to create the diverse, inclusive, and intergenerational community we aspire to be? How do we attend to the entire human experience of “heart and mind” to build an enriching and sustainable humanist community?

Facilitator: Audrey Kingstrom is a longtime member of HumanistsMN. She is a Humanist Celebrant, serves on the Board of Trustees and as our Program Coordinator.

This event is sponsored by HumanistsMN. If you are not yet a member, please consider joining to help us cover our costs and build the humanist movement. Not ready to join? Donations are gratefully accepted! Join or donate at humanistsmn.org.
