Wintering: The Power of Rest and Retreat in Difficult Times

Please note – register here to join this group -- with the expectation that you will participate in most if not all seven sessions.

Join us for this 7-month discussion series based on the book “Wintering” by Katherine May. In it, May recounts her experiences with navigating hardship and challenges the taboo against taking “rest and retreat” when needed. As we read the book together over the course of several months, we will gather the third Wednesday of each month to explore our own attitudes toward and relationship with the concept of “wintering.”

This book discussion will be facilitated by the FUS/HumanistsMN Mental Health Team Lead, Karen Rowehl. We will meet in person for the first three months, switch to Zoom for the winter, and end with a final in-person gathering in March of 2026.
