Looking around our state and country we are seeing so much cruelty. The ICE surge in Minnesota, for instance, is more than immigration “enforcement.” It is a deliberate tactic to create fear and isolation in an effort to subdue opposition to an authoritarian government.

But let’s not disconnect or disengage. Let’s come together as fellow Humanists to share what we are feeling and experiencing. This will be a space to decompress, to voice our angst about recent events, and to support and encourage one another.

What this event IS about:

  • Creating the warmth that comes from being in a community of shared values
  • Processing our feelings and experiences in a safe and respectful environment
  • Discussing actions that create meaning, purpose, and hope in trying times

What this event IS NOT about:

  • Debating current events (differences may arise -- but this is not a debate space)
  • Allowing our community to be divided and uncivil
