Join us on May 8 when the Humanist Film Series will present our first documentary, the initial episode (“Georgia”) of the award-winning The Appalachian Trail Odyssey with Bulldog Hanson. It's a fascinating and true story of a blind-since-birth hiker navigating the historic Appalachian Trail with only the aid of his phone’s GPS system. The film was created by HumanistsMN member, Gary Steffens, who documented the epic achievement every step of the way! Come and vicariously explore the scenic (and dangerous) Appalachian Trail and marvel at the power of the human spirit to overcome all odds.

Arrive around 6:30 PM for a little socializing. As always, bring your own beverage. Some snacks will be provided but feel free to bring something to share if you'd like. Gary will introduce the film promptly at 7:00 PM and afterwards provide a lively, interactive Q&A session for those who care to linger and mingle.

A look ahead: on June 12, we’ll celebrate the life of Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play Major League Baseball in the modern era with the film ‘42’ (PG-13, 2013).
