July Fantasy Book Club: "Mistborn: The Final Empire" by Brandon Sanderson

***Note* Location Riverview Library St. Paul, we start at 6!

Any and all are welcome at our bi-monthly HumanistsMN Fantasy Book Club! Join us the last Wednesday of every odd month. Come discuss the book of the month with us -- or listen in and contribute to our frequent meanderings about pop-culture and other passions.

Our book for July is "Mistborn: The Final Empire" by Brandon Sanderson

“For a thousand years the ash fell and no flowers bloomed. For a thousand years the Skaa slaved in misery and lived in fear. For a thousand years the Lord Ruler, the "Sliver of Infinity," reigned with absolute power and ultimate terror, divinely invincible. Then, when hope was so long lost that not even its memory remained, a terribly scarred, heart-broken half-Skaa rediscovered it in the depths of the Lord Ruler's most hellish prison. Kelsier "snapped" and found in himself the powers of a Mistborn. A brilliant thief and natural leader, he turned his talents to the ultimate caper, with the Lord Ruler himself as the mark.””

Our book club facilitator is Cory Brodeur, HumanistsMN member, who enjoys getting lost in fantasy books, nerdy pop culture discussions, and cats. Cory's goal is to bring people together to bond over fantasy worlds while discussing how we can make positive changes in the real world!
