BOOK DISCUSSION "Furious Minds: The Making of the MAGA New Right"

Join us for a summer read of "Furious Minds" by Laura K. Field. We will discuss the book in two Thursday evening sessions -- July 9 and July 23 -- over beverages and snacks at the brew pub, Brühaven, near Loring Park. Brühaven offers a wide variety of beverages -- including NA. (A food truck will also be available for those who want something more substantial.)

“Furious Minds" traces the ascendancy of hard-right thinkers whose contempt for liberal democracy is shaping American politics. As we learn more about the network of theorists, academics, conventional pundits and online influencers who are transforming conservatism in MAGA, we will discuss their appeal and consider the political and social environments that fostered their rise.

HMN member and retired professor, Drew Weiss, will be our guide through the book. Aim to read the entire book by July 9 for the most meaningful discussion.
