Book Talk -- "The Bible According to Christian Nationalists"

Join us to hear Rev. Dr. Brian Kaylor give a talk about his newest book,
"The Bible According to Christian Nationalists: Exploiting Scripture for Political Power." This book unpacks ways the Bible is misused in politics today and how these misinterpretations distort the teachings of Jesus. With his humor and sarcasm, Kaylor takes seriously the threat Christian Nationalism poses to the Christian witness and democracy.

Kaylor, a Baptist minister with a Ph.D. in political communication, is President & Editor-in-Chief of Word&Way (a Christian media company based in Missouri) and an award-winning writer and sought-after expert on issues of religion, politics, and
communication.

There will be a Q & A session after the presentation led by Rev. Angela Denker, a local ELCA Lutheran pastor, journalist, vocal critic of Christian Nationalism, and author of "Disciples of White Jesus."

Doors open at 6pm. The presentation will be from 6:30-7:30pm, with a book signing before and after. Registration is encouraged, but not required.

This event is cosponsored by Magers & Quinn Booksellers and Christians Against Christian Nationalism Minnesota -- an ally of HumanistsMN.
