Join us at this month’s session for an introduction to walking meditation by way of the labyrinth. Labyrinth walking is an ancient practice of active meditation that has been used by many cultures for centering, mindful awareness, contemplation, and /or prayer. We will explore how humanists and naturalists can make use of this practice to enhance personal well-being.
We will begin with an overview of the history and uses of the labyrinth, followed by walking the labyrinth at Metro State’s Community Labyrinth and Reflective Garden next to their library, and round out the session with group discussion about the experience.
All are welcome in the spirit of openness and compassion as we seek to support one another toward greater well-being. Each month we explore a different aspect of mindfulness and its associated practice from a secular humanist and naturalist perspective -- drawing on the experience and wisdom of participants.
