Donate and join us for a fun walk along the river to raise money for folks with food scarcity, near and far. This Sunday, September 24, 2023.
Meet at Zion Church parking lot across from Howard Park at 1:30 to prepare for our 41st annual walk. Short one mile walk or longer 4 mile walk along river. This is a fun activity for ALL ages. Have folks; friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, sponsor your walk with money!

We'll head up to New Buffalo for lunch at the Beer Church, located in a historic church building. We'll sit in the heated outdoor beer garden, so don't worry if it's cold or rainy. There is a menu featuring small plates, salads, sandwiches and the Beer Church specialty pizza. And of course, a nice selection of craft beers.

CFI (Center for Inquiry) gave Gervais the 2019 Richard Dawkins Award. The Center for Inquiry presents the Richard Dawkins Award annually to a distinguished individual from the worlds of science, scholarship, education or entertainment, who publicly proclaims the values of secularism and rationalism, upholding scientific truth wherever it may lead.
The Poetry Of Reality is a podcast hosted by renowned evolutionary biologist, Richard Dawkins. This is an audio and video experience that tracks our acclaimed protagonist in his navigation of the natural world and his pursuit of truth through scientific curiosity.

We'll work for 2 hours, then HF will provide lunch in the gazebo. Wear old clothes, O'Brien will provide gloves tools and trash bags. Don't worry if you can't work on cleanup for 2 hours: I need some company in the gazebo, and help with getting the lunch setup.

Meijer Bakery, Mishawaka, IN
We'll be carpooling to a couple museums, with a stop for lunch in between. We'll meet at the east side of the Meijer parking lot at 3610 South Bremen Highway in Mishawaka . Our first stop will be at the Illinois Holocaust Museum in Skokie. Then we'll pick up food at the famous Kaufman's Deli and head over to a park for a picnic lunch in Skokie. From there we'll head over to the Jane Adams Hull House Museum on the campus of the U. of IL at Chicago Circle. From there, we'll head home. Let us know in comments below, if you can drive, or would like a ride.

NOTE: We may have to skip the Hull House visit, depending on construction traffic in the immediate area, and if Lake Shore Drive is closed, we'll need to cancel the entire trip.
