Hike Winter Creek

Greetings all my next hike will be going back to chanty flats in the San Gabriel mountains just above Pasadena/Altadena. This hike will be about 5 miles round trip. It is a loop and there will be about 1200 foot elevation gain loss. This is not a hike for first timers. We will be hiking the winter creek trail. To get there take the 110 N to where it ends in Pasadena. The 110 becomes Arroyo Seco Parkway. Continue up Arroyo Seco to California St and turn right. Go to Lake street and turn left. proceed to the 210 freeway and go east to Santa Anita Ave. Get off at Santa Anita Ave and go north toward the mountains. Take Santa Anita Ave until it ends in the parking lot at Chanty Flats. Parking is 5 dollars, permits can be purchased at the pack store. Cash is best. Make sure you bring water and sunscreen. Broad rimmed hat a good idea as well. Dogs are permitted on a leash. A reminder that it is likely to be very warm that day. Hope to see you there Norman
