Temescal peak

Greetings all my next hike will be to Temescal peak. To get there take the 10 west to Pacific Coast hwy north to Sunset Bl. Turn right onto Sunset Bl and go to Palisades Dr. turn left onto Palisades Dr and go to Via Las Palmas. Turn Right on to Via Las Palmas go to the end. Park past the circle in the lot with a SMALL gate. This is the trail head. Hike is a there and back type of hike 550 foot elevation gain/loss 6 miles long. There are two peaks we will be climbing Temescal is one of them. The first one was some sort of look out, The picturers from both wil be fantastic. Bring water as it is an unshaded ridge we will be hiking on for the most part. Hope to see you there. Norman

Bummer! Couldn't find you guys yesterday. The driving description was no help and the comments confused us as well. We were three people actually with excellent sense of orientation plus GPS.
We asked people on the way and figured out that there are two different parks (two sides).

We did our best and hiked to Eagle Rock and I was setting in Eagle's Eye. Fantastic!

After examining the directions Norman gave this trail is only accessible from PCH hwy. I will be traveling from La Crescenta taking the 2 South to 5 south to 110 south to 10 West all the way to PCH hwy then following Norman's directions. If anyone wants to carpool shoot me an email.

hello Cory I was going to suggest going out the 101 to something like kanan road or Mullholland hwy something that winds through the mountains to PCH but looking at my gps software there really is no good way from where you are at.

From Sunset & PCH it is 10 minutes / 4.4 miles
    1. Head northeast on Sunset Blvd for 0.5 mi
    2. Turn left onto Palisades Dr for 3.3 mi
    3. Continue onto Chastain Pkwy E 0.5 mi
    4. Turn right onto Via Las Palmas 417 ft
    Plan accordingly...

Hi Norman, can you clarify the address as North, South, or Old Topanga, or give directions from Woodland Hills. Thank you!

Just confirming this hike begins at 9:30am. On some emails it's showing up as beginning at 9:30am and on others as 5:30pm ?? I assume the 9:30am is correct but please confirm. Thank you!
