About Poder In Action:
Mission
Poder in Action is a grassroots organization that builds the power of people of color and working-class communities to disrupt and dismantle systems of oppression and determine a liberated future in Arizona by developing organizers, civic advocacy, and movement building.
Vision
We dream of a liberated future where systems of oppression are abolished, in which all people have the resources we need to thrive, be healthy and be happy without polluting or depleting resources. A future in which we rely on each other to respond to harm and conflict, and, as violence occurs, root causes are addressed to transform the conditions that allowed the violence to happen. A future where people can move and love freely and each person’s agency and happiness is respected and contributes to the collective well-being.
In this just, equal, and sustainable future, imprisonment, policing, surveillance, and punishment are unnecessary, obsolete, and unimaginable.
